Frequently Asked Questions
First time joining us? Here are the answers to common questions.
Is “The Climb” an actual physical climb?
No! The Climb is a spiritual journey, not a mountain hike. It’s our way of describing the weekend experience; an opportunity to grow deeper, rise higher, and encounter Jesus in a life-changing way.
Do I need to be a Christian to attend?
No. Climbers come from all different places in their faith journey. Some are committed Christ-followers, others are new to faith, and some are simply exploring who Jesus is. Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome at The Climb.
Who can attend a Climb weekend?
Higher Ground weekends are designed for adults seeking to deepen their faith. Anyone is welcome, regardless of where you are in your walk with Christ.
Do I need to be in good physical shape to participate?
Not at all. While we encourage bringing comfortable clothes and shoes, The Climb focuses on worship, teaching, prayer, and fellowship, not physical endurance.
What should I bring with me?
We provide a packing list to help you prepare [here], but essentials include a Bible, journal, bedding, toiletries, and an open heart ready to hear from God.
What is the schedule like?
Each day includes times of worship, teaching, group discussions, and personal reflection. While every Climb is unique, you can view a sample schedule [here].
Where is the Climb held?
Our weekends take place at a retreat center called Mountain View Christian Camp in Alto, New Mexico, surrounded by a peaceful setting that allows you to step away from daily distractions.
How much does it cost?
The registration fee of $100 covers lodging, meals, and program materials. Scholarships may be available if cost is a barrier. Please reach out to us if needed: ministryhigherground@gmail.com | Tel: TBD
Will I have free time?
Yes. In addition to group sessions, there’s time set aside for rest, personal prayer, and fellowship.
Do I have to know anyone else attending?
Not at all! Many Climbers come alone. The weekend is designed to create new friendships and build community.
